Five Bluebird Babies

Need I Say More???

As fate would have it, we went out of town last Thursday to Sunday, and during that time, our long awaited babies were hatched!  They had little down on them at first inspection, but they are growing quickly as mom and dad are driving me into the poor house!

Their parents are feeding them hundreds of mealworms a day, and it is helping them grow rapidly. You can already see the wings getting feathery-if that's a word.

These pioctures were taken Monday, and Thursday.  Here are some taken Sunday, April 17.

As I mentioned, their parents can't feed them fast enough.  And Dad takes an active roll.  When he is not feeding the babies along with Mom, he is easily found watching out for her.  He is very protective, and refuses to let a small warbler nest in a nearby box.
Dad guarding empty box, no room for warblers!

Here are some pictures of Mom and Dad gathering mealworms for babies.

Ya'll come back now....
